What is the best Android game to maximize the performance of most of Xiaomi devices? The answer is of course Pokemon GO! This augmented reality game has been really a hit within only few days after its release. Being initially available in United States (US), Australia (AU), and New Zealand (NZ), the popularity of this game has spread all over the world. However, not all Android users are capable to play it since the game requires specific hardware requirement including GPS, fast Internet connection (4G is preferred), 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 Kitkat or newer, and of course decent rear camera combined wit ability to render augmented reality graphic.
What about Xiaomi phones? Most of latest MIUI devices are compatible and optimized to run such game. Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3, Mi 4/4i/4c/4s, Mi 5, and of course Mi Max. However, Mi Max users will have distinctive experience playing this game on their wide-screen device. The game is built for smartphones and is not built for tablets. Therefore, the maximum performance you can expect if you can play it on smartphone with large screen like Mi Max.
Pokemon Go is available officially in Google Play Store. Simply open up Play Store app, search it, download it, and install it. That’s it. Some of MIUI devices especially those with MIUI China ROM either Stable or Developer build may need to firstly download and install Play Store and other Google Apps first. Alternatively, downloading Pokemon Go .apk file and install it directly may also work.

The game is relatively new so not many cheats available but some users have figured out a simple cheat to catch all the Pokemon. I’ve been also trying to find out any “Catch ’em all” cheat trick so I wish I could find all hidden Pokemon monsters without having to walk around (or even drive around).
However, there is one cheat-like workaround to search for all Pokemons without having to actually wandering around. Eventually, I found out at several forums that the most possible way to cheat is GPS Spoofing. Mocking your current position is still possible to trick Pokemon Go system. Niantic Inc., the company behind the game, has also announced that cheating the game may result to banned account. Here’s what the rule stated :
“Play fair! Pokémon GO is meant to be played on a mobile device and get you outside to explore your world! Methods of cheating, unfortunately, are limited only by cheaters’ imaginations, but include at a minimum the following: using modified or unofficial software; playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts; using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location; or selling/trading accounts.”
How to fake your location? These two apps may help you with that: Hide My Root and Fake Location Spoofer.
The point is, you have to hide your phone’s status which is rooted and you have to spoof your location so you can virtually jump around anywhere easily. There are many other similar location faker apps like Fake GPS Location, GPS Hack, and so on.
The big question is “Does this Pokemon Go cheat method really work?” The answer is Yes but with a possibility of getting caught. Please keep in mind that all players cheating will get banned if caught. Using such cheat may get your account banned.
Pokemon Go MIUI 8 Cheat
As you may also understand that MIUI 8 comes with a cool new feature called Cloned Apps. MIUI 8 users can simply run dual apps with separate data and account in each app. It means if you have MIUI 8 installed you can then simply try cloning Pokemon Go app and have double account within one single device. However, as what the rule said, playing with multiple account will result to banned account.

Tips and Tricks
#1 – Use separate Google Account.
If you care about your privacy, you should use and link another Google account with your Pokemon Go account. The fact that Pokemon Go app will ask you to grant access to almost everything in your Google Account except your password. Users might not aware how important it is when an app ask for permission to take “Full Account Access“. The horrible fact is the app, and the company behind it, will have access to everything in your Google account, including Gmail, Contacts, files stored in Google Drive, and will have read/write permissions to all of it. Although you can then revoke that access but it is strongly recommended to create new Google Account used specially for playing the game.
#2 – Identify All In-game Markers
This hints may help you as the beginner in the game :
- The compass: Toggles the viewing direction in Map View. You can switch between a north-viewing direction and auto-rotation, which follows your viewing direction. You can also rotate using touch gestures.
- Gyms: Locations where teams train and battle Pokémon.
- PokéStops: Locations where Trainers can acquire items such as Poké Balls, Potions, and/or Eggs.
- Trainer: Your avatar.
- Profile Icon: Shows your progress and achievements.
- Main Menu: Accesses settings, items, your Pokédex, the shop, and Pokémon menu options.
- Nearby Pokémon: Displays wild Pokémon located nearby.
#3 – Turn Off Augmented Reality
Catching the Pokemon using AR via your camera is probably full of fun. However, for some users it makes capturing Pokemon monsters much harder. Just turn AR off to stop them moving around especially when you move your phone. Moreover, it can also save your some juice / battery.
#4 – Find Pokémon in their real-life habitats
Rare Pokemon monsters are usually found near environments in which they might live. For instance, water-type Pokémon are more common near bodies of water, Ghastlys in grave yards, grass-types in parks, and so on. It’s just a small hint but it may be useful for some reason.
#5 – Activate Battery Saver feature
Since this game is really addictive, you may play it for hours without noticing the depletion of your battery juice. Enabling “Battery Saver” feature in Settings may help you a little bit.
#6 – Visit every PokeStop
Every player need to reach at least Level 5 before being allowed to visit a Gym. Therefore, it is recommended to always visit every PokeStop even when your bag is full. Visiting a PokeStop gives you 50XP which is beneficial for leveling up when you first start.
