How to Install MiPop, a Floating Assistive Touch App, on MIUI Device

Still remember that popular floating assistive touch feature that iPhone and iPad have it? Many of iOS users use that feature whereas Android users need to look for third-party app to add similar feature. Luckily, users of MIUI devices can taste similar feature using an app called MiPop, a floating app serves as assistive touch.

There are not any users have known this app. Basically, MiPop add similar features to those are in iOS but this one is for Android. Shortly saying, this app helps users to replace the real navbar and power button. It means with this app you can : power off your phone, doing reboot, lock the screen, capture screenshot pics, and mute down your device sounds.

This app is made exclusively for MIUI devices. Nevertheless, it can be used on some other Android devices including many Samsung Galaxy variants.

Known supported MIUI devices : Redmi (Hongmi) 1s, Redmi 2, Redmi 3, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 4c, Mi 4s and Mi 5 (need confirmation on this).

Requirement: Rooted MIUI device.

Install MiPop on MIUI

It is tested to work properly on MIUI7 but should also work on MIUI6.

Step 1Download MiPop v4 app here. The .apk file and its mod package are inside .zip file. Extract it using either Winzip or Winrar.

Step 2 – On your MIUI device, make sure you have enabled installation from Unknown Sources in Settings.

Step 3 – Transfer all the files extracted into your device. You can use either AirDroid app or just simply connecting your device to computer using its USB cable.

Step 4 – Install Root Explorer app. Launch it and make sure it is granted with root access.

Step 5 – Still in Root Explorer, push copy apps MiPop to System/Priv-App/ while on Lollipop based MIUI device should be put at System/Priv-Apps/.

Step 6 – Now set the file permission of MiPop to ( rw-r–r– ) : Owner has Read and Write, Group has Read and Others also have Read.

Step 7 – You can now close Root Explorer and install Lucky Patcher app.

Step 8 – Launch the Lucky Patcher app, select Toolbox tab then select Patch to Android then tick on the box with green text.

Step 9 – Finally, choose Apply.

Step 10 – Reboot your phone as usual to make sure the changes setting are applied.

That’s it. Once your phone has rebooted successfully, simply launch the MiPop app and enjoy its awesomeness.
