This is the trick of getting Google Play Store app installed properly on your Mi5 MIUI 7 smartphone, especially the one running China Stable ROM or Global Stable Stock ROM of MIUI 7. Till the time of this writing, the Mi 5 is Xiaomi’s latest flagship phone powered with outstanding hardware specs under the hood. Therefore, many people are still eagerly to own this flagship Android phone earlier than everyone else. Moreover, some people even get this phone before it is officially distributed in their countries.
Anyway, if you are one of those lucky people who own Mi 5 early and it is running China version of MIUI then most likely you’ll see no Google Play Store app installed on it. If that’s the case, you can simply follow steps below :
Step 2 – Once downloaded, extract the Gapps_MIUI_7.zip using your favorite unarchiever tool like Winzip or Winrar.
Step 3 – Next, connect your phone to your computer using its USB cable then transfer the files into your phone.
Step 4 – Disconnect your phone once the transfer has done.
Step 5 – Now open up the Settings icon. Go to Additional settings >> Privacy >> tick or activate Unknown Sources option. This will allow you to install any .apk file other than the ones downloaded from official App Store.
Step 6 – Close the Settings down and open up File Explorer. Locate the files you’ve transferred before.
Step 7 – Found it all? Now install them one after another but make sure you never tap on Launch after each installation. You need to firstly install all the files (4 files). The app will only work properly when all the 4 files are installed.
Step 8 – Finally reboot your phone as usual.
Step 9 – Upon a successful reboot, you can launch the app for the very first time.
Step 10 -Use your Google credentials to login (gmail account).
That’s it. You can also watch the video guide below :
