Without rooting, Mi 4 users can now enable “double tap to wake” feature on their phone using a secret recipe developed by one of MIUI developers. As you may already know it, such kind of feature doesn’t exist meanwhile, even if you’ve upgraded your phone to newly released Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Enabling this feature requires you to firstly install / flash the secret recipe via Xiaomi Recovery but it doesn’t need rooting your phone so anyone can simply do this. Are you ready?
Download these two packages and copy it into your phone’s internal storage. Make sure it’s not inside any folder.

How to Enable
Step 1 – Download above two files into your computer then transfer it to your phone’s internal storage but not inside any folder. Use your phone’s USB cable to do that.
Step 2 – Now disconnect your Mi 4 phone from your computer and make sure it still has at least 50% battery power.
Step 3 – Reboot your phone into MI Recovery Mode. Doing so is simple: go to Settings > Updater > Menu (the three dots in top right corner). Finally choose Reboot to Recovery Mode.
Step 4 – Now flash the enable_d2tw.zip file you’ve downloaded earlier.
Step 5 – Wait till it done and once it has done, go back to main menu and select Reboot.
That’s it. The Double Tap To Wake feature has now been installed onto your phone.
How to Disable
Simply follow the same steps above but use disable_d2tw.zip file instead the another one. Easy isn’t it?
