  • This root method only works on RN3 MediaTek on MIUI 7.2.5 LHNCNDA (China Stable Build) – either with unlocked or locked bootloader.

How to root

Step 1 – On your phone, enable app installation from Unknown Sources.

Step 2 – Install KingRoot v4.8.5 on your phone. Remember, just install it but don’t run your phone yet.

Step 3 – Extract the file you have downloaded in your computer. You can use either Winzip or Winrar. You’ll then get two new folders: OringalBoot and CrackedBoot.

Step 4 – Install SP Flash tool you have downloaded into your computer.

Step 5 – Once installed, you can launch the tool up.

Step 6 -Turn your phone off and connect it to your computer.

Step 7 – Flash the boot-sign.img file (in the CrackedBoot folder) using SP Flash tool but make sure you load the same setting as illustrated below :

SP Flash Tool Settings

Make sure it has only boot selected and make sure you don’t select preloader.

Step 8 – Once the boot-sign.img file is flashed onto your phone, turn it on and launch KingRoot app. Use the app to root. Just proceed accordingly because the app is really easy to use. It’s a one-click root app.

Step 9 – Once the process is done, turn your phone off again and connect it to your computer.

Step 10 – Use SP Flash tool again. But this time you have to boot the boot-sign.img inside the OringalBoot folder. Again, make sure you load the same setting as illustrated below :

SP Flash Tool Settings Root RN3

Make sure it has only boot selected and make sure you don’t select preloader.

Step 11 – Once the flashing process is done, you can turn your phone on.

That’s it. You may now download Root Checker app and use it to verify the root status of your phone. Also, you may follow additional steps to gain permanent root by replacing KingRoot with SuperSU.
