Google introduced its smartphones into India under the title “Android One.” After the initial launch, more similar Android One phones were also released into certain European and Asian markets. These smartphones were a way to create a more affordable smartphone line in newer markets.
Collaboration with Xiaomi
Because of the popularity of the Android One smartphones into India, Google is also planning to partner up with Xiaomi to launch the second-generation Android One smartphone.
Popularity of Xiaomi
Xiaomi is incredibly popular within Indian markets, making it a great company to partner with. For example, there have been several models that broke sales records in India: the Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 3, and the Redmi Note 4.
The latest reports show that the Android One device has a model number “MDG2” and might end up being launched as the Xiaomi Mi A1. The latest Xiaomi Android One smartphone runs on a stock Android system rather than on its typical MIUI skin.
The listing right now also shows that this supposed Mi A1 phone could be inspired by the Mi 5X because it is also supposed to have a 5.5-inch full HD display. If this rumor is true, then the Mi A1 will be the first in the Android One line to have a dual real camera.
The Mi 5x is supposed to be close to the Mi A1 model, so we suspect it will also have similar features. Here are some details so you know what you might be able to suspect from the new Mi A1:
The Mi 5x has a 5.5-inch screen and it is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with a speed of 2GHz.
This smartphone also comes with an Adreno 506 GPU as well as 3GB/4GB RAM. It comes with 32 or 64GB built in, depending on the b=model you buy, although you can also get a microSD card slot to have memory up to 128GB.
The front camera lens is 5 megapixels. There is a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel also. The battery has 3,080mAh battery that charges very quickly.
There are many rumors floating around so far about the new Android One. These are just speculations and theories currently that has a solid backing behind them. Keep checking in for updates about the new Xiaomi Android One phone!
