Redmi Pro – Key Specifications
There have been several phones of Redmi line up including Redmi 1, Redmi 1s, Redmi 2, and Redmi 3 – with total sales record of 110 million. Interestingly, instead of launching Redmi 4, Xiaomi has decided to release Redmi Pro. Is it the most sophisticated edition of Redmi line up? Well, let’s take a look at its key specifications and you tell me whether you think it is a good device or not. For your information, this product has been officially announced on July 27th, 2016. The device will be available in China earlier than any other countries in the world which is as usual. Read on its key features after the jump.
The most highlighted feature of Redmi Pro is the existence of sophisticated hardware attached on its back: the dual camera with DSLR-like quality. The first camera is 13MP Sony IMX 258 Sensor and the second one is 5MP Samsung camera. Both cameras can work simultaneously producing high quality photos. The first sensor by Sony is capable to capture still images amazingly while the second one by Samsung is capable to capture the depth information. Combined together, the produced photos are outstanding. Also thanks to Xiaomi’s state of the art hardware level DOF processing technology: Dynamic Depth of Field. Do you want to make a selfie? Just make use of its 5MP wide-angle frontfacing camera!
Having that alone will make you as semi-pro photographer using only your phone! Isn’t that so cool? Of course it is. Here are some example of its photo quality:
Wait! Now let’s have a look at the core hardware planted under the hood. Meet Helio X-25, the first 10-core 64-bit mobile processor by MediaTek. The chipset has 2x A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and 8x A53 cores CPU. Currently, there are not many chipset having deca-core technology and MediaTek X-25 is the first one implementing tri-cluster CPU technology. Having that in mind makes us easily imagine how powerful is this smartphone. The company also claimed this processor can deliver unmatched power efficiency which means users can easily max out its performance without worrying of battery juice. The CPU clustering technology means all tasks will not always activate all CPUs and the CPUs can work simultaneously. The performance cluster can deliver highly intensive tasks whereas the power balanced cluster will do some moderate tasks. The last cluster, the Power-saving cluster, will process only light and simple tasks. The point is: different type of workloads will be handled by different cluster. Think that as gears on vehicles. If the vehicle (in this context is the device) is doing some simple tasks like texting or opening calculator app on one cluster then the other clusters will be idle. That way the power consumed is always efficient.
Moreover, the Redmi Pro is way faster than that is Redmi Note 3 Mediatek edition.
Unlike any previously released Xiaomi Redmi phones, the Redmi Pro also has fingerprint sensor but in the front instead of in the rear side – just like the flagship: Mi 5. On top of that, the button is made of high-quality ceramic material adding elegant taste on its design. Talking about design, Redmi Pro inherits brushed aluminium body spot-able especially on its rear. Furthermore, the CNC chamfered edges adding more elegant aspects and premium sense on its overall design.
Supporting the MediaTek Helio X-25 is its 4GB RAM making the phone flawlessly render heavy graphics easily especially Android games like Asphalt 8, Crashlands, GTA San Andreas, Epic Citadel, and so on. What about Pokemon Go? It will be just a piece of cake.
This phone also comes equipped with 128GB Flash storage allowing its users to store many photos, songs, videos, apps and games.
The juice needed by its processors and all other hardware is provided by a 4050mAh battery. That would be enough to accompany you throughout your hectic day with lot of fun.
The device comes running MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its 5.5 inches touchscreen OLED display. The display supports 100% NTSC format with 60000:1 contrast ratio providing deep and clear display. In the bottom side you will find its USB Type-C port to connect the phone to computer as well as to charging device.
